Missouri Congressman Sam Graves to Host ONDCP Video Teleconference Discussion on Growing Use of Club Drugs

Washington, DC—Edward H. Jurith, Acting Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), today welcomed Congressman Sam Graves to host a video teleconference discussion on the growing use of "club drugs" on Tuesday, July 31st at 9:00 am.

Acting Director Jurith stated, "The use and sale of Ecstasy has expanded from nightclubs and raves to high schools, the streets, neighborhoods, and open venues. I would like to thank Congressman Graves for taking the initiative to educate members of his district about Ecstasy – one of the most problematic drugs that has emerged in recent years."

Participants in the discussion will include representatives from ONDCP's Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Program (HIDTA), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Kansas City Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff, the National Guard Counter-Drug Program, local law enforcement, and an Assistant Principal from Park Hill High School. Congressman Graves has also invited local officials from his district who are involved in helping stop drug abuse in their community to participate.
