1Although there is no solid information on Iranian opium production, the U.S. Government estimates that Iran potentially may produce between 35 and 75 metric tons of opium gum annually.
2There was no information for 1992 production. For 1994, a vigorous eradication campaign reduced potential production to insignificant levels.
